Equality news round-up: Supreme Court briefs due next week, and more

Community/Meta

By Scottie Thomaston

- Fort Bragg has offered the same-sex spouse of a military servicemember a “guest membership” to the spouses’ club.

- The Stanford Law Review has an article on the Perry Prop 8 case, Romer v. Evans, and marriage equality. It’s a response to Professor Nan Hunter’s article “Animus Thick and Thin.”

- SCOTUSBlog continues their series on the Article III standing issues in the Prop 8 and DOMA cases. Part 1 is here. Part 2 is here.

- Reminder: Next Tuesday (January 22) the proponents’ brief in the Prop 8 case (in support of Prop 8′s constitutionality) is due at the Supreme Court. On the same day, the Bipartisan Legal Advisory Group’s (BLAG) brief defending Section 3 of DOMA is due. Next Thursday, Professor Victoria C. Jackson’s brief is due in the DOMA case, arguing that BLAG lacks Article III standing and that since the Justice Department agreed with the decision below that Section 3 of DOMA is unconstitional, the Court lacks jurisdiction to take up their case.

Frankly, we haven't analyzed this to the point that we stand firmly on that calculation. But from Edge Studio's perspective as a premier voice production and training facility, we can attest that, for many reasons, the voice over field continues to grow, and the need for voice over talent is booming.

Hair color is the pigmentation of hair follicles because of two sorts of melanin: eumelanin and pheomelanin. By and large, if more eumelanin is available, the shade of the hair is darker; if less eumelanin is available, the hair is lighter.

Same-sex marriage, especially for the military is something perverse as for me. I basically do not particularly positive attitude towards it. But offer same-sex spouses "guest membership" in the club spouses is even more strange as for me. Therefore, my unequivocal positive approval, this idea can not receive. Thanks to the author for this post.
