AFER talks DOMA with immigration attorney Lavi Soloway

DOMA trials

By Scottie Thomaston

Matt Baume from American Foundation Equal Rights sat down for an interview with immigration attorney Lavi Soloway to talk about the First Circuit hearing which he attended. One of the interesting things he noted was something I wrote about yesterday: the Justice Department’s announcement that they were not in court to defend DOMA on any basis whatsoever.

Soloway also went into a bit of detail about his own work with “Stop the Deportations“, a campaign to raise awareness about DOMA’s effects on gay and lesbian married binational couples. And last, he addressed Immigration Equality’s new lawsuit against DOMA on behalf of married binational couples who are gay and lesbian, Blesch v. Holder.

Perhaps someone here can enlighten me as NOM did not post my question. What is "the black church" that BB mentions?

    Thanks
