That is so ridiculous that they are trying to argue that one of the reasons for marriage is procreation. What about straight couples who decide not or CAN'T have children?

Just because you refuse to legalize gay marriage, is not going to keep people from being homosexual, and is certainly not going to make people who are homosexual, "decide" to be straight so they can procreate and get married.

So should couples who don't plan to have children just NOT MARRY since that is the supposed "main purpose" of marriage? How ridiculous. Whether a couple has or doesn't have children is irrelevant, IMHO, where marriage is concerned.
I do not identify as gay, but I wholly support marriage equality and the need to STOP discriminating against people for whatever reason. Two people who love each other and are in a committed relationship should have the right to get married in this country. It's time that the discrimination stops and the walls of hate and bigotry come down ALL OVER THIS NATION for good.
This state by state crap needs to stop and the US Supreme Court needs to rule that banning gay marriage is unconstitutional!
